I’ve been the owner of a Hair Salon in San Antonio for several years, and over the years I’ve seen a lot of people who had really bad experiences with other salons. Part of the problem is that many people choose a salon based either on location or based solely on how much they charge. Just because a salon is close by or the cheapest one around doesn’t mean it’s really going to be a good fit for what you need. If you don’t want to come out looking like you had a fight with a weed whacker, it is a good idea to take the time to find a really good salon. The best method is always to get a referral from a friend or family member who has had a good experience (and whose hair always looks good). Failing that, it is now pretty easy to get “anonymous referrals” from the reviews posted on various online business listings. Among the more popular of these are Google Places, Yahoo! Local, YP.com, and Angies List. A hair salon with several good reviews is usually a good choice and you can always contact the salon to check prices and make sure they are within your budget.
